The At Large Showcase: Call for new writing, actors and directors
The At Large Showcase will take place in the last week in May and we are now calling all writers directors and actors to get involved. The last showcase saw the start of three pieces Nowhere Now, The Meeting and Beryl which have all been performed in some of the best theatres in Ireland during the one act festival and more recently Nowhere Now was performed in Smockalley as part of the Scene and Heard festival. All three pieces are going to the Edinburgh Fringe August 2016. Writers We are now accepting scripts and proposals for pieces. This is a works in progress showcase and the pieces may be developed further into our main productions, but we also welcome short self-contained 10-20 minute pieces. At Large aims to get involved in festivals and other performance opportunities to produce three 1 hour plays a year. We can’t wait to see what you are working on!!! Send a 200 word proposal or full or partial script [email protected] by Friday 31st March. If your piece is selected it will then go our dramaturgical workshop, if it has not done so already. Directors We are looking for those interested in directing for the first time or with experience to work with the writer to bring his/her vision to the stage. If you are interested in getting involved in this capacity come and join At Large by attending our weekly workshops every Thursday in the Lab. Let Grainne the Artistic Director or Daniel the Head of Development that you want a piece to direct! Actors We are looking for actors to bring these new pieces to life. If you want to be a part of fresh new theatre that could go on to bigger and better things over the course of the next year.
