Theatre Maker Workshops

“Contemporary theatre-makers (refuse to) occupy only one definition of the existing professional profiles of actor, writer, director, designer, composer, choreographer. Very often, a theatre-maker takes on more than one of these roles in an integrated way.” DUSKA RADOSAVLJEVIC
At Large are hosting a series of 10 all day workshops from September to March which will be centered around useful techniques and processes for theatre makers. Many of the classes will be movement orientated. We will be looking at mime, clowning and other movement based techniques with Bryan Burroughs, Veronica Coburn, Annie Ryan, Sandra O’Malley and Sarah-Jane Scaife. There'll be hands on devising with Brokentalkers and Nick Johnson. And renowned Dramaturgs Emily DeDakis and Hanna Slattne will guide us through protecting the vision of a piece in dramaturgical-based workshops. The workshops are about creating opportunities to go with our new skills! We intend to produce a devised piece cast from the workshops, and attendees are encouraged to submit their writing for our second dramaturgical workshop (deadlines and selection process TBC).
